WELCOME TO CONNECTING POINT

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.”

- Charles Dickens
Prior to the conference I was lost in my identity of who I was. This affected my relationship with my wife, my kids and most importantly with God. The conference gave me the tools/techniques to use that help me to see the person God designed me to be." Robert Tanner
The Rooks are a marvelous couple that God is using to change hearts and to impact people's lives for the glory of God. I would highly recommend having them in your church or attending one of their retreats." David Piearcy
This conference opened my eyes to what I really am, awesome and perfect in God's eyes. The Rooks offered tools to help me become the best person/Christian I can be and to help me see people through God's eyes." Vanessa Groves
At a time when I stood in the middle of the broken pieces of my shattered life, in His mercy God sent Don Rooks to help me see His good work in the brokeness and the better expression of Christ that He was making me." Mike Stancil
Don and Sheryl have a powerful gifting to help people see the beauty in the brokenness and the force in forgiveness. God used them to lead me to the very bottom of my pain so that I could finally reach the height of my potential" Rob Lecourias

Who Are The Rooks?

Sheryl Rooks

First Lady

Sheryl Rooks, with her experience as a pastor's wife, has an "insiders" perspective on ministry and as a result has a special love and concern for ministering families. Sheryl has a unique gift, and has been told by many that she is very perceptive in distinguishing and discerning problems. With a BA and MA in Psychology from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, she is a very able partner in this ministry.

Don Rooks

El Presidente

Don Rooks has been in the ministry for 30 years, seven in youth ministry, 23 as pastor. Most recently he served as the pastor of the Bible Baptist Church in Galveston, Texas for seven years. Don received his BA from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, and his Masters Degree in Psychology from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana. Don is a charter member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Why Do They Do What They Do?

After only a few years in the pastoral ministry, Don & Sheryl become disillusioned with ministry, the church, and their own marriage. Don & Sheryl began a painful journey that would change their lives. Through their own experiences and pain, they discovered deep truths about God’s amazing mercy and grace, forgiveness, and love. They learned to love each other more deeply, learned to love themselves, and love others the way God intended! The Rooks have been involved with the Restoration Ministry and SITM (Stress In The Ministry) since their inception 12 years ago. During the past four years, the Rooks have traveled to other countries to share their experience and expertise by conducting marriage and pastoral retreats.

Connecting Point Ministries is available on a love-offering basis plus travel expenses for retreats with emphasis on pastors and staff, workshops, and church and family counseling.

Making a Difference

These are just a few of the lives in Nicaragua that have been effected by Connecting Point Ministries. There are couples all over the world that have gone through their classes and had their lives changed and marriages saved. Some of these people are professionals, missionaries, pastors, evangelists and the list could go on.

CPMinistries purpose is to minister to all people -- especially those in full-time ministry, who do so much ministering to others that they are often overlooked as having needs of their own. CPM is especially concerned for those considering leaving the ministry for whatever reason. Also to the lay person who needs enrichment and restoration in their lives. To aid in restoring families and pastors to useful work in expanding the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Purpose
  • Restoring Troubled Relationships
